I don't see how phone records will help .. Just because you weren't texting doesn't prove that you weren't holding/using the phone .

I see plenty of guys not 'texting' but they're watching movies or playing video games as I pass them .

Doesn't Transport America have dash cams ? It would great to have an inward facing cam in this case to exonerate you . You can also contact an attorney ; my company pays for CDL defender by US Legal, maybe your company has something similar

 

I have velcro on mine....it's very cheap......under 5 bucks.

 

If your using it for music, podcasts, etc use a voice assistant also. Whether Alexa, Google, etc That way, your not using your hands to operate it.

Tickets are difficult to fight unless you get in front of a judge, but if you were holding the device for any reason, you get a ticket.

I got a ticket at a scale house for not wearing my eye glasses while driving, but I was and they were around my neck which is where I put them after I took them off when he asked for my license. Tried fighting it, and even asked for the video showing me approaching the scale, but they wouldn't budge. It's still on my record.

 

I have two drivers who have had phone tickets here in this state two days apart with the same cop, and I know the cop from being pulled over by him before.

It goes in front of a judge to get them dismissed based on the fact that the cop wrote them up as having a phone out of sight but glancing at them while driving.

What one driver was looking at was the factory GPS unit on the dash, the other was looking at the bottle of water that fell off the seat and onto the floor.

One of these trucks has a forward facing camera that is mounted on the cabinet behind the passenger's seat, the driver wanted it so it was installed. His phone wasn't in reach, on the bunk, he was looking at the gps unit.

My lawyer said while the laws and regulations are a good thing, the fact is the cop can't just assume that there is a phone there being used without seeing it.

 

Seen guys with small tv on their dash or watchin a movie on a laptop all while humpin down the road at 75mph..

 

I've been seeing tons of steering wheel holders driving with headphones covering both their ears too. The quality of "driver" today is very poor.

 

.....and people wonder how this type of stuff happens ! Moron truck drivers watching movies with their feet up on the dash

Get off the phone , stop watching movies ; just drive for goodness sake

 

Me to... sticks right to the dash .. Easy to replace if it stop sticking.. Ive got some on the underside of my upper bunk to so i can lay down and watch yotube without holding phone

 

Has a 3way cam for my rig..
