On our 07 T600 the Steering wheel has some play in it that would be nice to correct. Its not steering play. Its play from what would seem to be a larger driver using it as a handle to get in and out of the truck. Basically you can rock the thing back in forth like its loose. Maybe it is I DK. Are there wear parts in there? Anybody else had to fix this issue? Do i need to replace the wheel? Its all scuffed off like the rest of them anyways, im sure they aren't cheap through KW though. Aftermarket?

    Thanks in advance.

You need to get a harness and some rope, let that driver repel out.

Just need to install an elevator. Seemed like it must have been a big guy that ran it. We all get lost in the seat because its so wide and its worn on the edges. The mattress is pretty smashed too.

Our main driver maybe hits 150lbs tops haha . Just have to deal with the wear from the guy before now.

Raise the hood up and grab the steering shaft. Twist it back and forth and look to where the pitman arm or drag link connects to the horizontal splined shaft coming out the side of the steering box. Look to see if it is loose on the splines on that shaft... See if there are any tell-tale rust trails over the end of the shaft from looseness. Grab a 1-1/8" and 1-1/4" wrench and torque it down good if so... I had one that constantly kept loosening up and I was always having to tighten it. Finally picked up a "new" pitman arm from a junkyard for $80 and it stopped loosening up... Anyways, checking that for slack is part of my normal routine now every time I raise the hood because when it was constantly working it's self loose it sure did eat up steer tires until I caught on to it.. Hope it helps..

The actual steering play is fine. Its the wheel itself that feels loose. Like grabbing both sides of it and pushing down with one hand and pulling up with the other.

New column doesn't seem cheap. The chubby guy was the previous owner I'm speculating he was chubby at least. Something was hard on the steering wheel.

Glad it helps, maybe. I remember that problem like it was yesterday. Only thing I'd say different is if your pitman arm is wallowed and worn out get a brand new one. Can't imagine a new one cost much more than that used one I got. Or at least not enough that I'd have a huge issue with it. It's the steering after all and it's important.
