Yes. China made Briggs since 2012. They have “private label” deals with others and supply them engines. It was a decision they made to help reorganize after the bankruptcy. Same with Northern Tools on some of their North Star pressure washers. No name Briggs but parts interchange.

You can't afford Honda or Yamaha? How many cheap ones are you going to have rattle apart before you can? Which model are you looking at that's $2500? That would be a huge generator. A Honda 2000 will run about any small AC (but not a 13,5 RV roof top model) and they are the same price they have always been, around $1k.
You won't beat this deal right here. It's almost 300 less than I paid for my Honda 2000 almost 10 years ago.

Did you ask about the warranty? Last decent sized tool I bought from them had a 90 day warranty. It died at 90 days.
