Same happened to me. I kept all my check stubs. I supplied copies for every 3 mo. for 3 1/2 yrs.

If you don't have stubs, then show them your 1040 tax return.

This is one example of where paper logs are good. I still got 25 years worth of comic books along with w-2’s and pay stubs in bankers boxes up on a shelf to have all the proof I need of employment time and mileage. Scrap it after I die but until then it stays valuable.
