Sorry been quiet lately. Got my hat pulled low while rates are good.

Hope everyone's day was better then mine. Lost a DT466. 2nd one that has done this. It's a known defect from 1998-2012. The lifter retainers snap, allowing the lifters to rotate and wipe out the cam. $32 part wipes out an engine. Fabulous. Last 1 was 13k to repair, this bus only has 2 years left on it (15 year limit). Stick a fork in it.

A buddy of mine was showing me that keeper design a while back. Poor design.

 

I wish my pipe loads were that nice, but oh no, I have to have a spaghetti mess of 1/2" with a few 2" stacks teetered on top that insist on walking out on me lol.

 

I hope it’s as good as it looks

 

Best part is I have 1 high mile dt466 that has never been apart left on the fleet. I guess I will be removing the cylinder head to install new lifter retainers on fall break. A little pound of prevention...

 

Been bouncing around on the skiddy all afternoon....
