I often wondered about used Glider Kits for O/O's. Are there many out there? Would they purchase another Glider Kit for their next truck? Are they that more reliable? Thanks in advance.

The reliability comes from not having an aftertreatment system. The durability of the chassis is no different than the same model/spec of the non-glider truck.

I was shopping for one a month a go , we are talking 15 to 25 k more for a glider with a block that already has 600 to 1 mil miles on the block . I'm sure it's more reliable if it was rebuilt correctly but I have heard horrible stories of these rebuilds not holding up . Also does that 25k more price offset the price of a 10 k one box ? I'm not sure the prices are worth it but yes these systems can be a pita , Im still looking.

    Hello,
May I ask, Are you replacing the engine completely? Is this the 3rd truck you are doing this to? What is the condition of your Cascadia? Thanks in advance.

The block should easily last a few million miles. I'm building a 40 year old CAT right now. No cracks, never been line bored, crank never ground. Likely more than 2 million on the clock. Plastigauged all my bearings and they still measure 0.001" to 0.002" under the max clearance for new bearings. The rebuild is only as good as the guy doing it and the quality of the components used.

I was looking for the one with bad engine and got it last week . Its pretty clean , 13 speed , apu , cummins engine probably removed already and mechanic is looking for the good rebuildable detroit . Hopefully should be done withing month or bit more , i am not in rush anyway ... Wanna see how cascadia with detroit will compare to kw t660 with c15 or c16. Bit tired of overpriced little things from kw dealer . It feels like driving bentley .

..dont get me wrong : i love my t660 with c16 , just trying to build something different and test it if i find right driver for it ...if not - should not be a problem to sell it .

Is this a glider that the title reflects that it shows that it is built as a glider or is it just a truck that you are putting an older engine in?
