I got a quote from progressive. 1885 down, 943 a month. $1M, 100k M/C, $30K Truck, $20K Trailer. Now is a horrible time to start truckin again, I was just interested what it would cost with a 2 year old DUI on MVR

Thats what im talking about except i was talking about ...with trucks. But apparently I was being an idiot and posted this here and in its own thread and got a good answer. :) I ned non-owned truck insurance and nothing else and thats enough to get an MC number.

Well, after some calculating for myself I found out that buying a truck, trailer, a few months salary and some starting cash (fuel, damages, etc..) is absolutely no problem. The only problem that occurs to me is, by the time I'm going to America I will be aprox 25 years old, maybe a year older. Which means that I will have 6 years of European OTR experience, will the American insurance companies hold notice with this or does it mean once I come to the USA I will have to start all over again? That the European miles will simply be ignored and that the company will refuse to insure me until I drive in the USA for a few years.

Or will the insurance company tell me 'Ok, you have over a million legal European miles, here are the papers, please sign and your insured'

    Thanks in advance,
    Dutched.

Best thing to do is contact insurance companies and get your answer straight from the source!
