Is there a relatively quiet (RFI wise) inverter available for a reasonable price? Inverter in the company truck is noisy as all get out on SSB (S5-S7)!
Or suggestions on quieting down the one in the truck?
Noise goes away when antenna is disconnected.
Thanks for any assistance!

Ground the case to see if this would help.

The case inside the inverter? Outside case is plastic. Cobra 2500 watt.

Ok there’s the problem a cheap chinese inverter. There is nothing that can be done with the inverter to stop the interference but the antenna/coax may be the issue because of a poor RF ground.
-
Well I was afraid of that! Probably check everything over with the multi-meter again, but I'm pretty sure the antenna system is in decent shape.
Might just get a remote for the inverter so I can shut it off from the seat if the RFI is messing things up!
Thanks for the help Ridgeline!

Some inverters have a separate ground terminal.
I found when I switched from a cheap modified sine wave inverter to a Pure Sine Wave inverter that the interference disappeared and my appliances ran quieter. -
Multimeter can’t be used for rf grounds.

You know..........I'm really trying to resist the temptation of driving down to DX Engineering in Talmadge and buying an antenna analyzer! You're not not helping Ridgeline! LOL!

Well hell jd, if you can that, go for it, rent your knowledge out at the truck stop and make millions ... someone mentioned a while back (not here) to make sure the ground on the oulet to any 110 is grounded. Never had to test that idea myself but it could ground the other side and eliminate the ultrasonics from the inverter.jdchet Thanks this.

####! That might be the ticket! Make millions and become a rich trucking company owner! Easy peasy, right?
