the truth about deboer trucking.

well I started driveing with deboer back in dec 3 08, I was excited to get started, I filled out an app online and waited a day or so before calling recruter, after that it took 1 week before they hired me.

after that they told me that i would have to wait before comeing to oreintation but in a few days my recruter called me up and told me that a student had canceld and that I could come in the beginaing of dec.

we made the travel arrangements to come up to wisconsin, after that I boreded a bus in peoria,IL and I arrived in tomah, Wi at 3:30 am after I got off of the bus I walk to the hotel(bus station in truckstop parking lot and hotel is behind truck stop-econo-lodge) then about 8 am my recruter called me to see if every thing went well.

after that I went back to bus station and caught a taxi cab to marshfield,wi (thats were deboer doc for phyiscal is) to take ur d.o.t. phyiscal, then u call deboer and some one comes and gets u in the company van.

after that u check into the bunk house and sleep on a bed of foam and a wooden box (in order to get a room u must give roadrepair ur cdl). the next morning I started orentation, the usual stuff a ton of paper work videos on the trailers,and the auto-shift tranny, after a day and half we were ready to hit the road.

since I only had 4 month experance at the time I had to ride with a trainner for a week. after that week he told them that I was ready to get my own truck so they insrtucted him to drop me off at there texarkana,tx terminal. the lady that was in charge of students came in friday and gave me my dispatchers name and number and also gave me this bs about a freightliner truck in the dealer geting repair and told me to give my disptacher a call.

after I called my disptacher she told me that a driver that lived in texarkana was going to give me a ride home and would be at terminal about 4 to 5:30 pm. well 4 came and went and then 5 and 5:30 came and went and no sign of this driver, finnaly about 9:30 he showed up and then we got going.

we went up to ashdown arkanas to domtar and then we went up the road. about around arkphilidaphia he said he was tired and asked me to drive, I did but since it was winter out it took from 11 pm to 4 am to go from south of little rock to carlile ar about 40 miles east of little rock.
then he takes over and he lets me sleep in the sleeper but when I took my boots off i spoted a ####roch on a shelf.

we finnaly made it home the next night I spent 2 days at home before my disptacher called and told me that they got a truck for me, they sent another driver to come and take me to truck, then we got up to the headqurters in blenker,wi ( the treminal is in the middle of a feild in the middle of nowre) so I get my truck the next morrning and I go into the parts dept and get some spare head light bulb (truck was a volvo) and other spare parts and then I get my tire chanes and after that I hooked up to my loaded trailer bound for ohio and to it chicago to swap it my disptacher was trying to get me home for christmas.

after I left out after christmas in that first week my truck broke down in mississippi on I-59 west my leveling rod went out and my airbags went flat, after that it took 2 hours after I limped in to a repair shop out side of laurale ms, after that they tryed to give me miles but it was a hit or miss thing and my pay check suffered, like $0 for a check but I was only at 28 1/2 cpm and somtime they would run me around chicago like a regional driver when I signed up for otr.

but I held out hope untill my trucks battery falled to with they found out that there were a missing batter from the battrie box, that was fixed at the texarkana terminal, and onther thing is that they will pull u out from under a load so the texas regional guys dont start crying witch in trun cut ur miles down. and then my starter actually burnt out of my truck in gary in. and then also my altinator positve wire broke off had to fix that and another thing is that there mantance dept dose not do the work on the trucks correctly.

like when I put my truck in the shop for an alignment and it was still pulling after I got it out but not as bad but I still had the problem. then some times (not all the time) they would give u an illigael dispatch and expect u to be there on time and if ur not they would give u a service faliure, then when I was in ogden,ut they gave us all a 2% pay cut and after that it just kept getting worst so on oct-2-09 I told my dispatcher I was quiting and she got mad but I decided I wasnt going to live off of 29 1/2 cpm(cents per mile) and on oct-3-09 I pulled into the terminal at 3 am cleaned out my truck and had to find a ride to tomah,wi (after u say I quite they dont help u to get to some kind of station from there).
at 11:28 am I borded the train and went home.

deboer is not a bad company for a student but, if u can get passed the bs and equipment falures and live on $40 every other day and not very many miles then they r some what ok but they just wasnt for me. and just to let u know they will suspend or fire u if u idle ur truck over 30% and they only give u 1 to 2 days off at home and try and make u stay on the road for months so if u do decide to go with deboer hope u have better luck than me.

 

yea thats thought was more the drive but if u pulled ur truck into the shop the michaince would grip but they will alow it, like I herad off companys cleaning ur garbge out and chargeing u but deboer dosent I guess it gose with the half ##### jobs the mechanices do.

 

for one I care more about driveing a truck and 2 that dose offend me ok pal and I do have another driveing job avalible. so why dont u go work for wal-mart.

 

Another thing i'm not the worlds greatest spellers but who cares as long as I get the point across, my mother is a teacher and hates english she says who cares about . , ! ? and so on big deal and she won 7 teaching awards in denver
