Hi everyone

I have been a driver for about 3 years, after doing a stint of 25 years in corporate America and being down-sized. Starting to wonder if this is what I really want for the rest of my life. Hate sitting around and waiting for things to happen.
First 2 jobs were with "national carriers" and that's what I did . . . . . sat and waited. Paychecks suffered immensely as did paying the bills. About 2 years ago I found a job with a "small" company in MI, dry freight out, reefer back-hauls. Great company to work for. Kept you moving most of the time, good pay and benefits and truly treated like family. Cleared up all of my bills and had vacation to Disney planned when my fiance (team partner) decided that she had to move home because of family reasons. You never know. Anyhow . . . . I'm back looking for a solo career, without her love, help and guidance. Tried local without any success. Good driving record, (1) speeding ticket, no accidents, no late deliveries. Back looking at "national carriers" and hate the thought of making the same mistakes I made with my first 2 experiences. Anybody have any advice?
