Don't discard it. Freightliner will probably want $1500 for a replacement, plus $400 express assessment fee, plus $100 computer connection fee, plus $200 shop supplies.Bean Jr. and truckdriver31 Thank this.

Take it out and listen to the driver cry that it's gone. And that's after he's filed a comp claim for tripping on it. Ask me how i know.
Bean Jr., 650cat425 and Dave_in_AZ Thank this. -
You'll do time in Alcatraz for that too. I read, DOT requires it to be filled and readily accessible. In a sleeper compartment isn't readily accessible AND, it has to be a 10lb.(?) one for trucks. Not those little "homeowner "ones.Bean Jr. and Dave_in_AZ Thank this.

I got 3 clean level 1's from Arizona, Washington, and the communist state that say it's ok where it is.

That is the onboard movement analyzer and citizen tracker. They install them on all new trucks so the government can spy on you in the name of human and drug trafficking. If you remove it the truck will end up spending the rest of it’s life in a shop tracking down little electrical sensor problems that will cost you millions in down time.
Bean Jr. Thanks this. -
