I got started early in CB radio. I lived in a rural area, and it was the way everyone communicated. At that time you also had to have an FCC license. Every small town in the county had their "own" channel. Also at that time there were only 23 channels. All the kids at school also used them. Kids would be on right after school, and the adults would take over later in the evening. It was a great time to be alive! I discovered QSL cards by accident. I talked to a guy in Australia I think it was. ( first time experiencing "skip") About a month later I got a QSL card from him. I thought that was the greatest, and it got me started. I did have a huge collection, but lost them in a house fire. I also became a HAM operator and continued the hobby.
