I know the experiance drivers dont think that .27 a mile is good but if you are getting 3-4000 miles a week that still comes out to be anywhere 810-1080. If you have a normal day to day job you are no where close to making that much. especialy in florida. I know I am still a newbie and may not know it all but I still see where I worked a week busting my ### and only brought home 3-400 a week. Or worse not making anything cause you got laid off due to this economy which just happen to me last week. That .27 will due just fine for my wife 1 year old daughter and myself so I can pay my bills.

I went out with a trainer for 5wks come home for 4days went back out for 5wks on my own. Been home for a wk called this morning was put in the list should have a load out latter to day or in the monring, as the job its not hard, the miles the last 5wks I have got 1800 to 2300 per week most of are runs are 600 to 800 per run so if you do 3 or 4 a wk you will do ok. this is my first driving job so to me talking to other drivers I like the the office knows me by name not a truck #!!! **Travis

What concerns me of Windy Hill is some of their equipment looks as bad as Cypress Truck Lines' equipment... at least the trucks saw around Apopka at the nurseries.

STAY away!!! That .27 a mile is based on very short book miles. If jck short the owner is still alive you certianly WILL get screwed at some point , not sure about his punk kid , as he was only 17 when I was there and too young to beat to a pulp as he deserved . Spent 6 months with those dirtbags back in 96/97

You say 96/97??? That was a long time ago to be judging a sompany in my opinion. Companies do change. Some for better and some for worse. PST Vans is an example of that. They were really bad in 98 and US Xpress took them over and it was a huge turnaround for them. Too bad US Xpress went really south for the solo, but they are still top notch if you're a team.

Ok, here's the latest information I have on Windy Hill Trucking. My son has been with them for about a year now and other than the fact that he hates truck driving because he says it's too lonely, he loves working for Windy Hill. Just yesterday he missed an exit and ended up on a toll road. He called the boss, told him the truth and boss thanked him and did not dock him any pay. Last month, I think it was, he was driving in the mountains, dang bird slammed into his windshield and cracked it good. They replaced it and they do regular maintenance on his entire truck. His truck is beautiful inside and is automatic. He brings in about 1100. week after taxes, which is better than any pay he could get in Florida. I worry about my son every day but I am also very proud of what he does. Right now, he's headed back up to Wisconsin....oh goody! LOL Will help with any information I can if anyone needs it.

I have worked for them for 7 years now - they do not give you empty promisses - I run good miles - make good money - and never miss my home time - thanks
