Also, don't try this with a family in the back. Leave the wife and baby at home to go to the park in the stroller or blow bubbles in the blow up pool in the back yard. The thought of doing that to a baby is absolutely cruel.
thanks to the reset you CAN get 70 hours in, and a few more too.....unfortunatly thats extremly hard running, and you wont be doing much of it, becuase basicly its almost impossible to do run 11, plus your .25 pretrip and fuel, hit the rack for 10 sounds good.....but a baby and momma will mess that up.....you'll end up sleeping late, or not getting enuf sleep, and putting everyone on the road at risk of an early death ive run hard, alot of us have, but most of us know when its time for a really long nap
Good point, didnt factor in the reset. Still, the most I've ever run 11 hours per day was for about three days straight. One of those days, I shut down for a 10 at exactly 12:35 hours into the workday..... but when my head hit the pillow, I was gone. Cant do that for too long. I've run up to 70's plenty of times and have had to recycle hours (pulling the first day of the 8 off) to try to get running time, but we all know that doesn't always go as planned, especially if you are only pulling off 8 or 9 hours. or so. .......... oh, and most of the hours when I was up against a 70 were SITTING waiting for a load after delivering or before pickup...... getting angrier and more homicidal by the minute...
xanix, Bronc brings up a valid point. How do you plan on getting any sleep? Granted you do have a newborn and want to spend as much time with her, but is it worth putting your lives and others in danger from the lack of sleep? KH
OK, think about this for a moment........ Your child needs interaction from other children to survive in this world. You take that child on your truck with you, and you are robbing them of essential life skills needed to get along in social situations. Is your child going to take its first steps in a moving truck? Is your child going to HAVE to be put to sleep by the whine of the turbo? This is not a normal way to raise a child. Period. Your child needs sunshine and play time outside that box to develop normally. I'd seriously rethink what your talking about doing here. Like someone else said: Its a recipe for disaster.
That's not right what if you're on a bumpy road your kid will be back there throwing up chunks. Just think about it. Some kids love trucks young and grow out of it.
...not enough decent paying freight to be able to run those hours either.... Maybe that's already been mentioned
