First thing I thought was "this is like Pearl Harbor." I believe they (Bush and Cheney) let it happen.
I remember where I was that day. I was installing carpet in a Ukranian refugee's house in Franklin TN. He had pictures of himself on the wall in a Russian uniform. I asked if he had served in Afghanistan.he hadn't.
Afghanistan was their Vietnam. We didn't learn the first time.

I had a good conversation while going down the road (till my CB started giving me fits) about our involvement in 'wars'. And the other guy said, "...we either need to go in, and take care of business and do things right the first time around, or we need to just stay the !#$% out..." And i totally agreed with him. I also said that the USA is alot like the playground bully in grade school. Those who are pacifist are scared, or act scared. Then there are those who test the bully. Then there are those the bully likes to bully, mostly because they let the bully bully them. But then there is that one that the bully bullies once too many times, and they snap and end up suspended from school cause they end up on top of said bully swinging away and the original bully ends up crying for the kid on top to stop. The USA is that bully. And eventually we'll get whats coming to us, more so than 9/11. And you know what?? we (will) deserve it. Here is why:
wars in the past with United States military involvment (and i am sure i'm missing a few):
1914- 1918, World War I
1939-1945, World War II
1960-1975, Korean War
1960-1975, Viet Nam War
1961, Bay of Pigs
1983, Grenada (even though it lasted like 4 minutes.....joke)
1989, US Invasion of Panama (to remove CIA op Manuel Noriega)
1990-1991, Gulf War I
1993, Battle of Mogadishu (Black Hawk Down)
1995-1996, Intervention in Bosnia and Herzegovina
2001, Invasion of Afghanistan
2003, Invasion of Iraq/Gulf War II.
Now you notice anything?? the closer we get to the present, the more frequent our involvement is in war. Why do you think so? Because making war is a good investment for private sectors who help supply those weapons to our defense department. You dont think Bush II got pretty good kickbacks from going to war 7 out of 8 years he was in office?? You know how much money he made for his 'friends' in the back of the house?
we've bullied and bullied and bullied. And when things dont go our way, we bully some more. Funny...hitler did the same thing, but we stood up with the rest of the world and said "that isnt right" and "stop". Nobody stands up to us because there isnt anybody better (so we think) than us.
on 9/11 we lost 3,000 civilians. since our invasion of Iraq/Afghan. in 2001, we've lost 4,262 soldiers, and 30,000 more wounded. and for what? one man? all we've captured/murdered was Saddam Hussien. We're still looking for Bin Laden. What good money we've spent on the war to date. How many TRILLIONS of dollars has been wasted on such endeavours?? if we had saved 10% of what we wasted in those to invasions, do you think we'd have the same economic garbage disposal we have now?? -
BoD you forgot to mention the on going drug war in South America. My GF's son went there to Columbia to fight the cocaine producers.

Umm..what does this have to do with Swift?
-
Nothing, but what started it all is that I made the statement of using my military experience and training to help other students at that !!**!! Millington Tennessee facility, and said thats what I get for serving my country, and going to fight a war which I still have no clue what I fought for. Then someone badmouthed me for talking about the military the way I did. Then someone else jumped my case about "being an NCO", lecturing me on how to "soldier".....It has just taken off from there.......

Thanks. You filled in a lot of blanks I was wondering about. Does this mean you have no license to drive a car or anything until this mess is straightened up? It shouldn't, but with state and federal governments, you never know.
I have owned a few businesses in the past, and dealing with town, county, state, feds, and IRS is one reason I am a part time driver and a part time ONE MAN small business now. Having employees is a pain, and the small business I now have is a lesser pain than most as far as the gov is concerned.
I hope you get things straightened out. I have made as many as 15 calls to my state government, and got 15 different answers to the same question, from I don't know, this is not the right dept, call back later, I know what you need, and then a letter stating I am not in compliance because I followed said advice from state employee.
It makes you want to scream. Hang in there, if you have anything left to hang on with.
Nope, I do not have a license for anything......I've been in contact with a few lawyers on this matter, trying to find one who specializes in "motor carrier issues", I mean I honestly don't think the people who made this decision honestly cared about the repercussions everyone has felt from this action.
Once again the little guy gets shafted...But thanks for the lil bit of support though...

NO It will not effect your car (class F I think) license! Or your Motorcycle (m)! It will only effect the class A side. You've been driving and should know everything in the tests. Just apply for the CDL and take the written and you might have to take a driving test and that's going to cost you if you don't have someone you can borrow a truck and trailer from if you have the cash to "rent" from Ryder or Penskie or one of the other leasing places out there.
Also check with OOIDA about the lawyer side and see if they have any information that might help you.
