Need to post serial#. Probably a BXS. Lots of info here for that and all cat engines.

The ACERT motor is a total different monster when it comes to running them efficently. The motor sounds different and even pulls at a lower RPM than the other Cats. The ACERTS are also a very stout motor once all the bugs are worked out of them (examples...exhuast flow, fuel flow, and timing). Read some of the other Cat threads or ask some question with the serial number prifix that ya got. Welcome to the boards and good luck.

We have an 05 intl 9400 with a BXS 435 C15. It has just over 300k on it and its been running just fine. The international around it is another story, but the engine has been sound.

I drove the same truck you are describing set up in the same manner.
3.36 rears, 13 speed. When I got out of the truck it had around 450 on it.
I loved that truck. The engine pulled hills better than any other I've had and I've had Cat's, Detroits, Cummins and Volvo.
Hands down the Cat....
The Jake brakes worked the best as well.
It was not ACERT just twin turbo 475 HP.
If and when I buy a truck, that would be high on the list. However, the 70 inch sleeper is a little cramped compared to the 86 studio for teaming.
I also didn't like squeezing between the front seats to get to the sleeper. That's why I removed the passenger seat arm rest.
Overall, I felt it was a superior truck in ride, quietness, handling, and durability of the suspension system.
You can't go wrong with a KW. -
If it was a 2005 and it had a CAT then it was an ACERT. The acert came out after 2004 on all cat engines.
-
You are right, it was ACERT.
I still had no issues with the engine. We averaged around 6.5 to 7.0 MPG at 65 MPH. Depending on how we drove the truck and where we were at the time.
At 68 MPH, It was somewhere around 6 to 6.3 MPG if my memory is correct.. Not too bad.
