that is an ex werner truck. trans can be converted to a 13 speed. engine has extended warrenty up to 600,000 miles or june 17 2011. nothing has ever been done to the vva's or the bolts. the trans model number is RTLOC-16909A-T2 the c in it means a convertable.

u would have to get a aftermarket warrenty that is as far as cat goes. u could probally get a used truck engine warrenty from cat but i don't kow what all u have to do to get that. i will check into it.

The mileage length may seem fine but that date seems too close for comfort. do dealers like you offer extended warranties?

    For a 1st truck I wouldn't go with a used Cat "anything"
You need to be "PROFIT MINDED" and CAT motors are not profit minded.
Stay Conservative with your first purchase and work your way up to
something abit nicer after a year or two of learning the O/O ropes.

We have been at this game many years and we run FL Columbia's with 515 Detroit's and either 13/15sp.
We make money with these trucks, the big hood days are gone for us.
    (6) 05/06 Columbia's (3) Team/(3) Solo 2008-2009 " $2.9 Million at years end after expenses including wages $388,000.00 :biggrin_2556: (no red ink on the books) :biggrin_25514:

Ok so i'm leaning more towards the aero. They have c15 cat 435 hp and the other is 14.0 detroit 455 hp 9-10 speeds. All full fairings ,2005 centurys are light blue werner's guessing and 06's are white columbia's very close in milage. You think they have been beat on the werner trucks. And i plan on paying cash for truck and reefer trailer.

I would go with the 06 Columbia with the 10sp,to seal the deal they would have to turn the motor up to 515hp and prove they did it,if its a 9spd have them flip it to 13sp as well.
I ran many a Cat motor and still have a strong love for them, but these days its all about profit and Cat can not put it on the books.I have plenty of other Contractors like myself that have a few of the older Werner Classic and Century etc running Cat Power.
Same routes, same loads etc the Detroit's prove it on the books at years end.
Buying used fleet trucks is a gamble, you get some good ones and you get some bad ones.Things like clutch, brakes etc may pass their inspection but they'll likely be some of your first out of pocket expenditures.
