I just finished my 2nd delivery in Pottstown, PA. My company wants me to drive back empty to the yard for my reset. The yard is 350 miles away. Can I use PC to drive back to the yard or will I have to be on duty?
Another question about PC

PC was never intended for anything close to this scenario. Your company wants you to do this, therefore you are dispatched (just not loaded) and driving at the direction of the company. You are on duty driving, absolutely.

600 miles PC??
Under what circumstances would that have been?snowlauncher and roshea Thank this. -
That’s called deadheading, and is “on duty-driving”. So should the 600 mile drive bobtailing.

Your re-set will give you fresh hours anyway.

I would PC unless it is a move paid for by the company, meaning they are actually routing you to the terminal and thus paying you for a dead head move. That PC time would count towards your 34 and let you head back out earlier, but if that is not an issue then you can do whatever.
FMCSA has no limits for PC though, if it isn't advancing a load or under a load, you can PC as much as you want (within your companies rules anyway).Farmerbob1, Canadianhauler21 and Wasted Thyme Thank this.
