2019 Freightliner Cascadia Evo
228,000 miles
Problem: After long idle/opti idle white smoke blows in through ventilation system and out through hood vents when coming to a stop. It will persist for about 10-15 minutes then not happen again until after another long idle.
I’ve tried stopping and inspecting under the hood during this time and cannot pinpoint an origin. Smells like oil or when the truck is in the process of a regen. The engine will sound groggy but then normalize after smoke clears. I’m assuming it’s burning off excess fuel or oil accumulation during a long idle but I cannot pinpoint the origin or what is causing the buildup.
Outside of this, the truck runs perfectly. This only occurs after a long idle and I take off for the day. Any ideas on what the problem is?
Possibilities: Bad injectors, timing off, gadgets, bad turbo seals?
Note: No alerts or fault codes are popping.

I was fighting the same thing recently with my Cummins engine, changed injectors, ecm, harness, all that stuff. Eventually engine got destroyed, but I think timing might have been messed up, because I was also constantly changing cam sensors

Check flex pipe behind turbo. We occasionally have one go bad.

Thank you, I’ll take a look at it and let you know.

Doesn't that mean a new Pope was picked?

So it turns out it was the bellows/flex pipe that was cracked. Found carbon tracking all along the pipe.
