Let me jury-rig several common things that go wrong on a truck and pull it across the scales and see if it can detect all of them... It may catch some, but I doubt it will catch them all.

Lol... I grew up driving in the snow... But ive had a few winter storm experiences in WY and some bad ice storms in IL and IA.
Most of what WY can dish out is just another day at the playground to me now... But one must be ever vigilant. Many of mine are illegal to buy now, but I had them from years ago and still own them. It's the high capacity mags they seem to have fits over out here.Of course I can drop and replace a 10 round mag pretty darn fast if the need arises.LoSt_AgAiN, Dave_in_AZ, Dale thompson and 2 others Thank this.

Worst in winter driving imho is when you are on a nice clean highway and pull into the left lane to pass. Suddenly just as you are right next to the other truck you go over a half mile of packed ice in your lane. Peel my ### from the seat after one of those.

Yep same with me..im confident in my abilities to run safely, but im always worried someone is gonna slide or run into me.... Think if i have anything going eastbound this year im not even gonna test 80 . Just go up 26 and 20 . I finally saw where it comes out in idaho falls like you said. Well the good thing about these new log rules. It could definatly help during the winter time. Maybe some guys wont be in such a rush , since u could take a 2 or 3 hr break and let the storm pass or the plows get at the road , and lose none of your 14 clock.... But then again maybe thats just wishful thinking..

Yeah 26 is the way to go in the winter... That KJ's on the north side of Idahofalls, if you turn left when coming out of the parking lot (east) and stay on that road for maybe 2 miles (cross 2 railroad tracks) you will come to an intersection with a 4 lane highway (US 26), make a left and that will take you to Alpine, WY. From Alpine go over the Hoback, through Jackson and just keep following the signs that say US 26 all the way to Casper, WY. If you are continuing east you can either jump up to 90 or take I-25 south to exit 92 which is again US 26, that will take you clear into Ogalalla, NE and I-80Wasted Thyme, LoSt_AgAiN, Dave_in_AZ and 4 others Thank this. -
All of those flyover ramps at the major interstate junctions pretty much put a stop to everything when the ice hits. Doesn't help that they don't put anything down on the ice but some sand either.
