Okay I got my first level 1 inspection this morning.
About 6 minutes after I left where I spent the night I drove past the weigh station. No lights were flashing so I drove past. I did see some trucks in there as I drove past though.
Sure enough I get two or three miles up the road and look in my mirrors and there are the lights a flashing behind me.
He said you didn't stop. I said I did not see any lights flashing I was looking for them but I did not see any. He said he believed me and they were having some problems with some of that stuff so....
So when's the last time you had an inspection? I said I have not and he said follow me.
He went over my whole truck. Including the city horn, including making sure my wipers had fluid and he even checked my reverse light.
He told me that my truck is in mechanically excellent condition (95 FLD 120).
He asked me who did all that work to it. I said I did. I said I have done my very best to make this truck safe and dependable. He said you did a great job.
He said the only thing that I can tell you is that you have a very small air leak at one of the connections up by your treadle valve, and you have another very small air leak on the back axle when you apply the brakes, again he said it's just a connector ferrule fitting same as up front with a tiny tiny leak.
He said that's extremely minor. He was not concerned about it at all.
When he gave me the paperwork I asked him if he would give me a sticker and he said he can't because of the air leaks. Then he just handed me my paperwork and that was it.
The paper that he wrote up for me just listed the air leaks and then down lower it said to send that form back in 15 days saying that you corrected that condition.
After I left I started to wonder whether I would get a citation or something else but he seemed completely unfazed by those are leaks and he did tell me they were extremely minor. I did not sign anything and he did not tell me I would be cited or anything else.
Am I correct to say if I just fix those two air leaks and send the form back everything is good to go?

You are correct Dino, just sign the form and send it back to the state. You’ll pick up a few csa points for the infractions, but no tickets or anything like that.
In fact if you read the form it has a citation issued box next the the violation, if be were going to cite you he would have done it at the time of inspection & put a Y in that slot.Dino soar Thanks this. -
Was it an official CVSA inspection with the air leaks in the violation section? Sounds like it by the fact you have 15 days...
Well, you just got hit by an a-hole if so. Those air leaks are now CSA points applied to the motor carrier with no practical way to dispute it. Also listed on your PSP report. For future reference any violation you get ask for a citation so it can be fought in court.
A "warning", which are no such thing, should be abolished as the only way to fight a CVSA violation is DataQ, and the odds of getting it reversed is slim to none.Brettj3876, singlescrewshaker, Dino soar and 1 other person Thank this. -

Does it say no violations were discovered or did he put air leaks violations with codes listed in there? I am confused
