Which one is harder work? Which one has the best equipment? Which one pays better? Which one could be a better company in the long term?

Food service and beverage is very similar physically. Equipment depends on location. You can do either job as long as your body holds out. In time you may move to shuttles if you can’t do the physical work. Or you may have to move on. I do food service. Around 50 most guys are moving on from big delivery routes. Smaller routes or shuttles.

I have no idea. Try it both ways and after you're out of the recovery room report back.

Not me. I just live in my truck with the cat, and we're both happy as clams.

As a cat owner I think any cat would be offended if they new you were comparing them to a clam.

Which would you pick? I've been doing research on what I posted in this thread... I'm thinking if i could get a job at coke when I get my cdl that would be the best thing to do... sysco probably pays more so it could be better if my body holds up to the work...

Food service where I work doesn’t merchandise. We don’t stock coolers. Rotate stock or put up displays. We take it in and at best put it in a walk in cooler or freezer. Dry product to dry room. I think we have worse hours. Earlier start times. Around here we get paid more also. They work less hours per day. I work Monday Tuesday off Wednesday work Thursday and Friday. Soda guys work allot of Saturday’s during the summer. I prefer the food side of thing for the $$$$. I’m 48 so I’d like to do this till I’m 54. Then I’m going to drive a seasonal vehicle and go south for the winters. Most guys I know on both side are top hands. Lazy guys don’t make it doing deliveries.
