It is actually now 65%, they don't do that 98% thing anymore. Comes out the same. And I think 72% with your own trailer.

 

AFAIK owner operator only. They are everywhere. 1 year experience? I wouldn't do the O/O thing until I knew much more.

 

Anyone have any updates about landstar freight?????

 

What's the better deal? A small company offering me 85% of line haul with my truck and trailer (dry van), but no fuel surcharge. Or Landstar at 73% with a 100% fuel surcharge? The small co says I need a 48 state and 2290 only.

Landstar only gives you 100% of the National Average for fuel. Some companies 100% is more because it’s 100% of what the customer paid.

There is a huge difference. Landstar puts the difference back into the linehaul and then they and the agent get a cut of it.

 

You get $50.00 an hour up to $500 a day after the first two hours.

However I only got it three times in the first 90 days with Landstar. Haven't gotten it in the last two and a half years. Also I got Truck ordered not used 6 times in the first 6 months and then never got it again since.

After the initial Honeymoon is over your on your own pretty much. I posted some of the ways you can protect yourself in my past post. Look them up it'll save you some time and losts of money.
