Coming up on 30 months OTR with Swift. Have had no accidents, incidents, tickets, service failures or late deliveries. I know most of the industry seems to look down on Swift, and that's unimportant to me, but what opinion does Walmart Private fleet hold? Is it a negative or will I be judged on my own merits? Any Swift drivers you know made the jump to Private fleet? Thanks for any input!

I started and worked for Swift for 3 years and had the same record as you and they hired me no problem. Just passed my 3 year anniversary with Walmart back in may

Good to hear that! Seems like Swift would be great training for Walmart with us constantly in their facilities and even doing store loads sometimes. How was the transition?

It was fine for me but I was hired before they changed the on boarding a few years ago so I don’t know how it is now. I did run on the Target account at Swift for 2 and a half years so it wasn’t much different except I made about twice as much when I first started at Walmart

Trucking is full of people incapable of critical thinking and non-generalization. I suspected Walmart would be rational enough to judge a driver individually. Just didn't want to wait for a phone call that might never be coming! lol

I think most of the bad rep they get is from other truck drivers. Wouldnt be surprised if most trucking companies dont know anything about other trucking companies other than how big they are and what they do.

I think they know a little bit about the hiring practices of other companies, or at least they should. But good to hear your success story and definitely appreciate your input.
