Pick up truck loads

Advertise on your local craigslist or equivalent. Offer to move their furniture or belongings or haul off their junk. You won't need a CDL, but, I'm sure some type of business license would be in order.

 

Not sure if Uship is in Canada or not, but check them out. You look at the board, bid quotes and take you chances. They take 20% so the bids are a bit tough. Equipment is my issue. I don't do it for a "job". If I want to go to California or somewhere. I bid low enough to pay for the trip. The last trip was a dud. I bid, got the job, went up to OKC then they decided to add that they needed a 3/4 ton truck only.. that would have been some handy information to have before even bidding.

 

What province are you in? Each has their own rules.
Alberta just need commercial plates, any resident can get them. Ontario you may need a CVOR. Manitoba no longer requires operating authority. . . Etc

 

To do it legally you won't be able to compete with the illegals.

 

Now we've got taxi drivers expediting parcels around the city too. Everyone's trying to make an extra nickle.
