I'm curious, I have a 05 Volvo D12D and realized my coolant was low because of other work I was doing. It did not throw a code for low coolant. Upon looking at it I found the wires we're cut off. Ordered a new one and will have it installed tommorow.
Why doesn't the ECU pick up on that the wires where broken? Just curious.

I also have the same problem. On a hard left turn my coolant critically low warning comes on and shuts the truck down.
I have recently had the engine harness replaced so my wires to ecm should have been new with the harness is any of the wires you were speaking about not a part of or would not be included in the new harness ? Can the connector from that harness that connects to coolant level sensor be re pinned as the dealer that installed it broke the harness clip on the brand new harness and did not replace connector. Only for me to find out by the connector coming apart while traveling. I have a zip tie rigged to hold the connector in place it doesn't have enough play to where it should loose connection? Any advice would be greatly appriciated. As volvo wants to charge me 5 hours or so to try to trace down a bad ground.
Also is it true by disconnecting the coolant level sensor would avoid this problem from happening ? Tia -

I know it's an old post, but did you guys find out what could cause shutting down on a hard left turn? The coolant level is good. I cleaned ground connections to the engine and connectors on the coolant sensor as well. Still got those annoying shut downs and code M 128 PID 111 FMI 1
