1. Attention employers: We now require a valid DOT# for anyone wishing to post a driving position. If your job offer doesn't contain a DOT number, it will not get past moderation and will not appear in the forum. The other requirements in the sticky at the top of this section are still required as well. Thank you for understanding.

I'm 38 years old from around Lafayette, Indiana and have over 5 years OTR, Regional & Local driving experience. My wife wishes I could find work where I could be home every night but the way things are these days that just isn't in the cards. Whoever I work for will need to be okay with her riding with me at times but I can't be out more than 7 days because of home responsibilities.

I prefer to run in the midwest, south, southwest and west as far as Colorado but I've never refused a load if the pay was right. I've never abandoned a truck or smashed one up.

I started out working for owner operators. My best friend taught me how to drive hard and fast to make the money and do what it takes to make the customer happy. Then I worked for a guy who had a small three truck operation. He never had any complaints about how I liked to run as I made him plenty of money and tried to keep his truck looking nice and clean.

I have never had any accidents, but I have to admit to one in Ohio because a four-wheeler rubbed my bumper...no damage or injuries to either one of us but the cop gave me a ticket for "Assured Clear Distance"...$112 fine and the court was happy. Funny how money does that....

I'd love to work for an owner-op again. I worked for a reasonably big company and it always irritated me that the dispatcher wasn't the one looking for freight. That responsibility went to "planners" who weren't allowed to talk to you. I want to know that the person dispatching me has accountability to me if the freight isn't booked right.

Well, I got a little talkative. If anyone has anything available, please PM me. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask.
