Sweeping the flatbed

The reality proves otherwise. Unless it states so in the rate con or the bill of lading it's not going to happen. Save yourself the aggravation and buy a broom or a leaf blower.

 

I ask for a broom, and do it myself. They aren't going to do a good job anyway, and the last thing I want is some dummy falling off my trailer and getting my insurance involved.

 

I carry a broom. I don't want some small piece of trash or a rock falling off and hitting a car. If it is big stuff I put it in their dumpster or put it in a neat pile.

 

Yep, carry a broom. Like others said-they won’t do it or do a poor job. I also left it all at their location-usually neatly!

 

I agree with your presumption one hundred percent but I carry a broom and sweep accordingly. However, anything I don't want to keep for myself goes into the nearest trashcan/dumpster at the receiver or right there on the ground where they offloaded me. It's their trash. They can deal with it but I like sweeping my own trailer clean. The only job done right is the one you do yourself.

I did a bulk load in my end dump a few months ago and the receiver wanted me to use their broom to clean the area around the hopper that I dumped into. They insisted I use my coal chute instead of popping the gate. Doing it their way takes longer and makes more of a mess. Needless to say I did NOT sweep the area and never returned. I asked them for my time card and what the hourly wage was before I made that decision. They didn't want to pay me so it didn't get done by me.

 

U make a mess in my van u clean it or it won’t move nor will unloaded call happen till done. It’s there stuff. Don’t like it call the boss and c what the clean out fee is

 

Battery powered leaf blower.. blow it off and leave.
