    One fellow I know put a mask on his camera when it was installed...nothing said to him and mask still there a month later. That company has a “safety lady” who was responsible for installing the cameras:rolleyes:

    Well sad to say, IHaul has gone all driver facing camera's (Company) A few guys covered them and they said nothing, until it was safety bonus time. Covering a camera, deletes your safety bonus for an entire year; not just a quarter. I wonder if ERB is doing this now also?

    I'm looking for other carrier to take my truck, they installed cam in our owner operator trucks after after i brought my truck here in January and billing for cam connection to wireless networks monthly . Few months i covered it, but last month they called me in office asked to remove the tape blinding the cam facing inside the cab, threatened to cut my safety bonus.
    What's interesting, the camera device has actually two cameras one facing the road the other inside. Few weeks ago, i was heavy slowed down almost to stop but i did not come to full stop, and rolled slowly in 2nd gear through a stop sign without stooping , in the middle of nowhere on country road. Second day i received an email from LyTX , Video Telematics and Fleet Management Solutions | Lytx the company monitoring , warning me for not stopping exactly time location, with video. A friend of mine received a warning after waiting in the middle of intersection for left turn on green until the traffic sign turned yellow and red. I have my own dash cam for years, is saving short 3 min videos before i hit a bump triggered by camera built in G sensor. I was thinking this cam work same way , i understand is connected to wireless network and instead of saving like other dash cams , sends videos triggered by G-sensor , no way to waste $$ recording and sending videos 24/7.
    But, ...according to wikipedia from their site ;

    "Lytx is a based technology company that designs, manufactures and sells video telematics products used by commercial and public-sector fleets to help improve driver safety and business productivity. Products include risk detection, fleet tracking, and driver safety programs that use artificial intelligence and analysts to identify risky driving behaviors and report real-time fleet information..." Lytx - Wikipedia

    So, the cam has a built in software analyzing traffic regulation and signs ( maybe the driver on phone ,eating or drinking) similar to self-driving vehicles;
    I'm getting old, but is time to start looking for other occupation, Skynet takes over . :eek::(:eek::(

    Friend of mine had his company put camera inside, said nobody would EVER look at it. He started hanging a pic of a big d#$k in front of it when he was stopped. Didnt take long for his phone to ring.

    Bison used to have these, any they weren't "enough" for them. They now use the "Guardian" system, which has active head/hand/eye tracking, along with complete trip analysis. It reads every sign, every speed, every position, everything you could imagine.

    Apparently my company is switching to that next year. Tracks eye movement, head etc. Look down to use your phone and it flags the driver. Good thing I'm leaving this at the end of the month. Why a company would need all this crap is beyond me.

    A lot of it has to do with insurance. It’s getting tougher to get and maintain for some.

    That's the BS line they use, really its about control, and trying to find the cheapest drivers possible, and use technology to make up the shortfall.

    It so they can keep hiring guys, like the one that smashed up your Volvo, and supplement their lack of skill, ability or giving a #### with technology. Bison has so much #### in their 2021 trucks, the warning lights and alarms NEVER stop going off. Between the guardian, lane keeping assist (with steering assist), brake assist, camera's, VORAD, Radar, GPS, ELD and HERD Monitor; the truck literally can't move without setting something off lol.

    I agree it is all about control. Put a new driver in a truck with all the warning bells and buzzers and they will be a minimum wage robot.
    Why does someone who has never had a DOT accident need a buzzer telling him he is riding the fog line with a wiggle wagon passing him.
