I've been using (and overpaying!) two Napa Gold 1971 oil filters at a cost of about $50 per oil change. Anybody using WIX filters? Looks like WIX 51971 is what crosses over from that Napa 1971. I was told they are who makes Detroit's proprietary filters but haven't found anything about that online. I see where I can get them for $12.50 apiece which is a #### sight better than Napa. What filters you guys use on your Detroits? I always used Donaldson or CAT on my C15.

    Cat sdp Thanks this.

Raise heck with Napa, checked my price and it was $10.44 a filter for the 1971.

Just a rhetorical question here but why TF should I have to ask? I'm not a million dollar account but I buy car and truck stuff there sometimes as needed. I'd rather do business elsewhere. Internet is the only honest place to get competitive prices. Everybody in town acts like they're doing you a favor while they break it off in you.

I like to buy local. Retail price is a suggestion. Shop where you get the best price and you like the service provided.

Actually it's because I have a Davco and use FS19763 fuel filters.
