    ☆Re-Take your Medical Test
☆Self Certify with your medical card and Medical certificate thru the Maryland DMV site.
☆"Buala"...!! All done, your CDL is reinstated.

If it expired after March 1, the FMCSA has extended it until 10/31. if it expired after June 1 it is extended until 12/31. From the FMCSA:

Waives, in accordance with the following periods of eligibility, the requirement under 49 CFR 391.45 that CDL holders, CLP holders, and non- CDL drivers have a medical examination and certification, provided that they have proof of a valid medical certification and any required medical variance (as defined in 49 CFR 390.5T such as an exemption letter or a skill performance evaluation certificate) that were issued for a period of 90 days or longer:
    • For CDL holders, CLP holders, and non- CDL drivers whose medical certification was valid on February 29, 2020 and expired on or after March 1, 2020 but before June 1, 2020, the requirement under 49 CFR 391.45 is waived until October 31, 2020.
    • For CDL holders, CLP holders, and non-CDL drivers whose medical certification expired on or after June 1, 2020, the requirement under 49 CFR 391.45 is waived until December 31, 2020
Waiver in Response to the COVID-19 National Emergency – For States, CDL Holders, CLP Holders, and Interstate Drivers Operating Commercial Motor Vehicles 09/18/2020 | FMCSA

I am going through the same process. About a year ago I became the full time caregiver to my father.. I just didn't have the time nor was I worried about the CDL thing. I went into check on the process and it was basically covered above. The issue now however is that due to covid and the backlog it's creating.. the soonest that I can get an appointment is 100 miles away in DECEMBER.

Did the dmv literally downgrade your CDL? When you login to the website, does it say CDL inactive or CDL active? I’m not sure about Maryland but in VA, if it’s expired and was downgraded for more than 6 months then you gotta re do the whole CDL process again. Dmv examiner, road test, ect...

In my case all I have to do (due to covid and to get the "real id" is bring in the same forms that i have brought them for 20 years.. and of course.. some cash) the issue here is that they are booked solid for months. I can wait to wait to get an appointment or go down and sit at the DMV all day long (outside of course) and see if they can work me in.

I had to schedule 3 months ahead. If there’s massive riots after the elections then cross your fingers that they don’t throw a Molotov in dmv lol.

You call your state license and ask.

Most states allow you to 'downgrade' to an in-state-only CDL if you don't have a medical card. Then, when you get the medical card, it's just a matter of paying the upgrade charge (here in NY, it's like $40..), and you once again have an interstate CDL, with all of your endorsements.
