The biggest problem with picking up or delivering at the Home Depot in Monroe, OH is that it takes a long time to get inside the facility in the daytime. There is always a long line outside the gate at Home Depot, and the line of trucks waiting to get usually stretches out onto Gateway Boulevard (Just outside the facility). One time I was making a delivery there, and it took 01 hr and 40 minutes just to get to the guard shack. Has anyone else ever waited in line as long as that at any shipper or receiver just to get to the guard shack?

It took a little over an hour to get onto the property of the facility that I delivered to here in Canada yesterday.Trucker61016 and expedite_it Thank this.

I once spent nearly 8 hours getting loaded and securing the load. Luckily, I had all my accessorials in writing on the rate con before I drove into that potential nightmare. If you do the same it really takes the sting out of long load/offload times.Coffey Thanks this.

I delievered there some, it wasnt that long, maybe 30 mins. The longest I have waited is at some Walmarts.
-
The only times I have been able to get inside the gate in less than an hour is whenever i deliver there in the middle of the night or the early morning hours before dawn.

Mine was always about 3 or 4, but keep in mind too, I have been there in about 5 years. Im not OTR anymore

Same with me. I've been there once and was in and out in 30 minutes for a drop and hook. It was 8 years or so ago though so that experience obviously doesn't count. Plus, and the reason I remember, it was on Friday of a three day holiday weekend, that I didn't get to go home for...Coffey, CrappieJunkie and expedite_it Thank this.

What is that Trader's World place at the intersection of Highway 63 & Gateway Boulevard (less than half a mile from Home Depot)? Trader's World sounds like a flea market, but at the entrance to Trader's world there are these "life size" (or bigger than life size) statues of giraffes, elephants, and gorillas and other exotic animals. I thought it might be a zoo or something.Last edited: Mar 3, 2021
