You know you're a FNG

I’ve witnessed the aftermath of 3 different engines with new inspection holes in the block due to broken rods. All of them had full sumps and good oil pressure.
#1 was a Cummins bc 855/444 that had a wristpin walkout and eat a liner which then caused rod bearing to spin and piston to hit valves and head causing rod to bend and fracture.
#2 was a 500 hp Pontiac Firebird 455 that got rev’d into the stratosphere one too many times. Didn’t happen on the track. Happened on a relatively gental cruise one weekend.
#3 was a Cat 318 in an old drag line that commited harry carry on itself because it was just old and tired of being worked.

 

Seen a few window'd blocks. Most from overspeed.

 

What is this Pre-Trip you speak of?

 

To most nowadays it's simple. Turn key. Yep engine starts were good. And the 2nd step before it's complete is chuck piss jug out the window. Time to roll

 

You forgot as long as the idiot lights go out too! But in all honesty, mine tells me on the dash indicator if its low on oil! Not too mention every other fluid also, like the windshield washer fluid, that gets annoying when its not empty but bounces off that sensor and keeps beeping at you!

 

Bonus points if you hit a lizard!
