volvo ved13 losing prime

    Have a 2012 that just started losing prime . IT take about 20 seconds to start if shut off for a day or more and 10-15 seconds if you shut it off more than a half hour. I changed the fuel filters and the check valve on the front of the motor and the problem went away for a day then came right back . Any tips on what to try next?

    D13's are notorious for injector cups failing. Losing prime is one of the symptoms of this. A 6pack of cups and injectors will fix the problem but the cups will fail again and again and again. Get a proper diagnosis and go from their.

    Injector cups as already said. Very problematic. On these motors. You can check this or that to be ###### but in the end the cups will fix it. Good luck. Take your big credit card with you and go only to a volvo/mack shop where they have the special tools needed for the job.
