    !

That would be a full house in a CJ lol.

I entertained putting it in this truck. Put th crane on another truck, and mov the rear axle to accommodate a 8’ dually bed.

Truck already has a refurbished 366 long block in it though.....

I’m thinking the 4 would be a little underpowered for that truck would nt it?

No Sir. GM built these trucks with 4-53N from the factory. We had one at R&L Drilling.

A 4-71T would be better though....

    No worrys brother.!
I've no plans of giving up on the stepdeck world..

Just trying my best to lay out a somewhat educated response as to why I haven't tried car hauling.. ;)

I own 2 of them now. The yellow hi rail truck and I have put many miles down together. The 8.2 is actually a decent engine, just not the power they were seeking. And early models were head gasket problems looking for a place to happen lol...... Later models were a little better.

Typical Detroit, when everything is right, about a 1/2 turn of the crankshaft and it fires up.... and the non turbo is gutless, boat anchor lol

Worked on a few in spotter trucks and fire trucks. Your right. Old No.62 rescue truck was a 8.2l. Smoked and slow, yet started, ran, and pumped water better than newer trucks. They had there place. But knowing guys hauling 80k plus on tall deck 427, they were a sad engine.

Some folks in Oberlin, Ohio had some C70, single with a pusher hauled steel with east trailers. Hollow tubed steer axles.

Middle of the night on the OTP, you would hear them before you seen them. Big diesel or not, you just got lapped at Indy 500 once they were wound up. Slow to go, fast as heck 4 miles down the road.

Come to find out, Old Milt had AV gas in a seat tank when he needed alittle extra besides the 200 gallons of regular gas in the saddle tanks.

So funny story. Not funny at all. My 3.5lbs 10 yearold Yorkie just got into it with a skunk. Yep, not my Black Lab. The wife's kitty dog just bowed up to a Polecat. Of course we can wash him in my shop sink!

I think the skunk is dead in yard. But I'm not going looking till sun up! This is live action.

    Happy Saturday AM Folks.
