Also horrible traffic, truck stops (if you can find any near you that have any spots left), and a host of other things.
The next best thing to getting out there was the scenery, while the best thing was simply getting out of there again.
Rather like SoCal.Lumper Humper, Phantom Trucker and hopeful eyes Thank this. -

I'm off I5 between Seattle and Oregon. Have not had any serious issues with winter. Can be too overcast for some folks through out the year. If you are a sun worshiper may not be the best choice.
Eastern WA is an entirely different environment for weather, politics, and trucking.TGUNKEL, D.Tibbitt, speedyk and 1 other person Thank this. -
Reno/Sparks, NV living is a lot like Denver/Aurora, CO living.
And yes, I have experienced both.
With all the 'perks'... not really worth it in any way. -
Hopefuleyes, just a bit of advice. You have the cart way in front of the horse. Possibly a County or 2 ahead. First it was a Dodge Ram or F150. Then it became a Toyota Tacoma, (because they last long). You were advised to curb your enthusiasm by several members on this forum. THEN......You were going to do it anyway because you had $20,000 saved up and could afford it. NOW......You have scrapped the ""New Truck" plan, and have decided to BUY A HOUSE IN UTAH!!!!!!! Do you even have your CDL yet??????? If so, how long have you been driving? Annual income? It is nice to have dreams and plan ahead.......but......holy cow.....slow down young man. Get settled in with a good company, learn to save money and budget for 3-5 years, give time time.
McUzi, homeskillet, D.Tibbitt and 3 others Thank this. -
