How do you get muturity out of that ( allow me ).I have ran out the house in a hurry thinkin i have cramed my phone an wallet in my pocket, only to learn i forgot it.As far as running a light ,how many times you been close to a light and turn yellow and keep goin only to turn red as your under it.Do you stop on yellow in your car, think not .And for all the schools i called they all asked for a copy of back round check and and driving report to bring to first day to register for school. They said to see if i would even be able get a job so i dont wast my time or money.....Alot of companies go with three moving violations in last 3 years, not having a license is not.So you would only have one.I think there is another reason there..

OK. I'm just running from my memory, but some years back, the Feds proclaimed that certain violations were severe violations (I think 5) which included more than 15mph over the speed limit, tailgating, unsafe lane change, driving without your license in possesion, and another one, can't remember. As far as leaving your house without your wallet, that's like leaving without your pants on. I don't buy it.

What states issue tickets for not having your license on you in a car? Hell, I forget mine in the truck all the time. I've been stopped on my bike and in the car, and never got much hassle.

It was the same way in NC for me.

You guys must have some real A holes where you got that ticket.

We can just spit out our number and get a verbal warning here.....unless you're operating a commercial vehicle. The law is very clear on that one.

The question is. How many non-commercial drivers know there license number?
I am not sure if I knew mine before I drove a truck.
And it has been so long since I got my CDL that I know I never will remember if I knew it back then. I have almost had my CDL half my life now. Give me 2 years, and I will be able to make the claim that I have had it half my life.

I am not going to bug out on the man about forgetting his license. I too forget mine in my truck sometimes when I am home. This is the same as forgetting it at home. It happens.
I think he really needs to get a copy of his driving record to see how it is marked on it. They could have marked it as being worse than it was.
Second he needs to talk to the local traffic judge or magistrate. To see if they can help clean that up for him. With it effecting his job situation they may.

All is not lost. I had a "failure to stop at a red light" no excuse, it was yellow and I tried to beat it. I also have a "suspension" for failure to pay a "no seat belt ticket". I did in fact pay the ticket, $105 bucks. BUT, I paid it with a check, the letter (I didnt read the entire letter) clearly stated, "NO PERSONAL CHECKS". By the time I paid it (CASH), my lic was suspended. BUT,I have a good job. When interviewed, I told the safety guy everything, and I made no excuses. I got the job. If theres one thing I learned on this forum, it's to tell all to prespective jobs.

In regards to not having your license while operating your personal vehicle, i've heard that you are allowed a certain ammount of time to come up with it before you are given a ticket. Is this true or a myth?
