Fluid leak help.

    I tightened the brake line and the bleeder fitting. Maybe the were a bit lose from when they were replaced and fluid has been seeping. I pumped the brakes and didn’t see anything but will take it for a short drive and check again

    I pumped the brakes a bit and didn’t sss anything leaking. So maybe that was all that it was!

    So the trucks sat since Sunday, and it appears it’s leaking again. Not as bad as before. Appears to be coming from the brake line coming into the caliper. I tightened it up, it’s pretty tight, I don’t want to crank on it but how tight should it be? I think that’s what’s causing my leak

    Sounds like the copper washer(s) that seal the bolt and hose end to the caliper is either damaged,crushed, or missing.

    Washer that seal the bolt? It appears the hose just threads into the caliper unless I’m missing something?

    It looks like they're both tapered pipe thread. There's a possibility that someone cross threaded the bleeder and the brake line. I'd consider backing them out to inspect the threads and seal them with some teflon or something. You probably want some kind of thread sealer on them.

    If the hose threads directly into the caliper instead of being the banjo bolt style it should still use a copper washer to seal it unless it is a flared style.

    Looking back at your pic it looks like a flared style. I’d take it back off and check to make sure the fitting is the right angle flare and is not damaged. I’ve bought replacement power steering hoses recently for a car that had horrible flared ends new and I could not get them to stop leaking.

    Is it leaking from the threaded fitting into the caliper? Or is it coming from where the hose is crimped on?

    Appears to be the thread going into the caliper, I have to get a better look when it’s light out again.
