Yep I took the last piece of equipment from the Richmond VA hub a few weeks ago. Sad, the guy says it was all of the sudden and had been working there 22 years. Something to do with losing the contract with United Airlines....

    D.Tibbitt and mjd4277 Thank this.

United and other carrier's that contract out their shorter small city flights to the hub cities have started using their own equipment and crews. But, when traffic starts to increase with the easing of restrictions, they are going to find the contract carriers gone and the new ones that get started up will want a bigger chuck of the revenue.

Either that or airlines like jetBlue,Frontier,Spirit or Southwest will pickup where some of the contract carriers left off. And some of the communities served fall under the EAS(Essential Air Service) category so some of those flights are a necessity.
