My medical card is up in January. My cdl expires in May. This COVID thing screwed up a lot of my plans. I can get my doctor to sign off on getting another card, I’m just fearful I may have a surgery lined up before January that would prevent me from passing the dot exam until after I recover. It’s really hard to think about letting go of that life completely.

You can renew at any time. Since they started putting it in the computer,I’ve been renewing 2-3 weeks early in case there’s a screw up.

As it looks, according to the surgeon I met today, he’s thinking a target transplant in June/July. Thanks COVID. Regardless, I’m trying to figure out if I want to get back to driving after being out since December of 18. Would my experience count anymore or would I be a noob rated driver again?
popcorn169 Thanks this. -
Depends on how long you have been out. Might just have to take a refresher course.
88 Alpha Thanks this. -
Been out of it since December 2018. So looking at 2.5 years when the time comes.

Should be able to get by with a quick refresher course on that short of time.
I have heard some people say that their last experience was 3.5 years and company told them ok some took refresher course.
Now I have never known a truck driver to tell a lie either.Jarhed1964, Wickedfire77 and 88 Alpha Thank this. -
