Hey I'll never knock a Peterbilt, I believe they make a fine truck. I'd seriously consider running that if you can get your paws on it!!

But the FLD & Classic are possibly the best Shakers ever built. If you get the chance, take one for a test drive. You might like it.. Sure it's a little noisy, & ruff around the edges. But it's a truck.. I personally like all the sounds it makes. I feel in touch with ol Buck, the road, & my job.. Sure it's not a cool classic or anything, but only one guy has to like it. That all that counts..

Also, if you can find one with a Detroit, if you keep driving slow like you've been, 8+mpg is achievable..

I take it DSV won't let you stay leased on with an old tractor.?

Oh yeah I finally got a message from breakdown like 4 hours later and it turns out I gotta drive all the way to the trailer an hour away and then send in another breakdown report before they even begin to contact someone to get it fixed; hopefully I can figure it out and just burn outta that place

I certainly understand that. Takes 1.5 hours of cleaning a day. We as contractors are not paid for. But if you want your employees to do it, ya have to pay em.
I would not ask any of my employees to drive my run. It's a load of comman criminal normal kids to a transfer site. Then a special needs run into 4 mental heath schools.
Its like hauling suicide coils, with an eye to the sky coil on top, and a shotgun coil on top of that. With 2 straps.

Man ive always wanted one of those fld's super good looking trucks in my opinion... can find em real real cheap in arizona. Heard they are real easy to work on and parts are cheap.i notice most the times i see an older truck on the road its almost always a fld or classic ... yeah id go out on my own if i went that route... really its what i always wanted to do , just taking it 1 step at a time and learning the business with dsv before i make that jump... couple guys leased on here with older trucks , dont really think there is an age requirement , just know that safety dept wont let anybody run paperlogs so u got to atleast have an electronic engine
