I was thinking the other day....shocked the wife big time....I don't know where the DEF sensor is located, but could it be possible that the sensor is gunked up with that salt/brine build up from the DEF fuid ....like you see on the pumps/nozzles?

 

Yes it could be . Could be crap in the bottom of my tanks to. Went underneath to change the def filter the other day . It looks like somebody has done some work with the def system, because some of the bolts was cross threaded and they tightened down the tank strap to tight and stripped one of the fasteners. Didnt have the right sized wrench to get the filter housing off . Says right on the cap, torque to 25 newton meters. It is way way tighter than that. These are high grade mechanics we have these days.

 

Think about it....just like drivers....they go thru school and their first job is a mega. Told what to do, not how to analyze the problem and fix it correcty....also...why would they care, they have little invested beyond their new Snap On debt.

Yep, they don't like to be run at slow speeds, or idle for any length of time. It needs air running through at highway speeds, too much time going slow can cause problems.

What weight of oil are you running?

Speaking of, my shadiest encounter with someone at a bus stop was when I was let go by the last company I was with, got off the bus in Lafayette, LA waiting for my buddy to pick me up around like 9 pm; I’m pacing back and forth along the walkway, decide to go to the other side to the left just for the hell of it and out of freakin nowhere when I looked back this scrawny, dark clothes wearing, at least 6 1/2 to 7 foot man walks along the path I had just got off of, we make eye contact and this dude is giving me all kinds of bad hippy vibes, passes me up and walks further down; I go back where he came from on the same walkway because that’s where I was gonna be picked up at and the whole time he eyeballs me, starts walking my direction and I kept the same distance between us just seeing what his plans were and after he walked towards me like twice he either walked away or my buddy showed up lmao! There was a “missing” poster on a lamp about a young girl where I was, makes me wonder; I didn’t have a weapon on me so I didn’t want to make anything of it, lucky I didn’t though.
