A friend of mine told me that he had a boost leak on a Shaker with a Detroit. Took the truck down the block and you could feel the lagginess and hear the air hissing as the turbo tried to spool up. Popped the hood, checked the hoses, couplers and the air2air. Couldn’t find anything. Go into a shop, and I ask the service writer about getting the truck checked for boost leaks.

“Boost leaks?”
Yes. Boost leaks. Boost, the stuff that turbos produce...
“Oh! We don’t work on turbos!”
Never mind.
“Ha! Ha! Ha!”

(manager walks in with some to-go IHOP as we were leaving out the door.)

Hey, did you know that your service writer is so stupid, that she can’t write up how to check for boost leaks?
“What???”
She thinks that you have to work on the turbo to find a boost leak.
“Ummm, give me a moment. Pull into bay 3 and I will educate her on boost leaks.”

Have you ever gone to a nutrition store to find out that the people that work at those places don’t know JACK about nutrition? I guess they are now hiring people from GNC to be service writers.
