well you are luck to find a good idleair.... I was saying for the majority and that is that. And as far as my numbers goes....I am going by my own experience. To each their own.
Thanks for pointing that out to me

When I was otr I used it but my company paid for it. All I had to do is swipe my comdata card. I liked it. I slept alot better since I didn't have to use the opt idle in my truck.

no its not worth it.it usually takes about $19 for your 10 hr break.I got it so now if i'm parked in their space and they say anything.I just say i have it but not using it nonite and the leave me alone.if they want proof i show them my card and window adapter that shuts them up.plus if it gets to cold you'll want to run the truck anyway so the fuel doesn't jell up.it think apu's are the way to go.to bad all companies can't afford them.

It is worth it if you have to buy your own fuel.
And they do not charge by the minute unlike another poster claims. -
I was just reading the "Idleaire Worth It" thread and started wondering if anyone has had any experience with Idleaire reps complaining about drivers parking in their equipped spaces but not using the services? If so, I'd love to hear the stories.
Should someone post one (or a few), I have to ask in advance: Did the truckstop locations not see this coming in advance? In some areas parking is already a premium to the extent that truckstops charge a fee. In others getting a space even in a non-Idleaire equipped location is a real pain in the turbo (no offense, Turbo... I wasn't referring to you...). Watching some of the installation of I-A equipment has me wondering just how many parking spaces are being lost in this exchange. Adding the idea of being shooed out of a parking space because Idleaire won't make their potential $2.00-plus-an-hour is just another sham levied on the trucking industry similar to the Kampground-of-(Name Your Favorite Travel Plaza Here) and all the groaning coming from the "$Quarter-Million Motor Home" crowd over idling trucks and parking space use in TRUCK STOP parking lots. (This was a direct reference to an event I saw in a "travel plaza" one summer evening where the "travelers" broke out the lawn chairs and monopolized the next space over while cramping the opposite side with their two slide-out units on the RV and leaving the tag-along automobile hanging out in the drive lane.)
Is it just me or is the industry in a very major series of changes from the day when the likes of Little America catered to truckers' needs? And are we facing the next round of Park-N-View with the added feature of a slight breeze delivered by a big yellow window-condom?
Anyone? Anyone? -
I like the idea of it...BUT, IdleAire is really a money-making business that is funded by the Feds...they certainly aren't some kind of Saviour's come down from high...they are very slick and really push their stuff on you when you pull into one of their areas...you are right, they do NOT like you pulling in and NOT using the service, LOL.
Well, with the new funding of truck parking spot locater's by the Feds, it will tie in nicely and make BILLIONS. So, yes, I DO think they will eventually FORCE it down all truckers' throats and you won't have a choice. We are fast becoming a different America than the one we grew up in, that's for sure!
They are not very big yet, but they WILL get there and HAVE received more funding lately so look for more of the their equipment taking up more of your parking spots soon! Enjoy!
BTW, this is who we are talking about: http://www.idleaire.com/ -
