You are welcome. I will be going for a refresher course later this month, and then driving team for CRST ( I know - not the best of the worst). I know my b/f is worried although he doesn't let on (that much).

Why didn't you just carry pepper spray or use a maglite like you told her to do? -
oh boy, this is going to turn into a gun debate. I have my CCW, and more than one firearm, (in case you think I'm "anti,") but I understand I can't take it just any where I want to. I think you should be able to take it any where except court or a jail, but we're just not there yet.

This is the type of #### you will have to put up with. Harassment... ehh... not necessarily, but ignorant, condescending, trashy men... yes. Are they all like this, no. ########################################### They have the, you must be a lesbian mentality because they can't stand the fact that a chic can put on eyeliner and back a big truck. It's hard on their fragile little man egos and they feel the need to insult. Let's also not forget the the perpetually immature. You'll get on the CB to ask for a bear report and the response you get is "hey baby lemme see your hooters". They will stare too, in truck stops you will feel the eyeballs on you all the time. Just get used to it, it doesn't end. You'll get back in your truck and someone on the radio will say "God ####, did you see that big ti**ied beatch walking across the parking lot." If you have a thick skin, great, if not, get one..... quickly.Last edited by a moderator: Oct 10, 2009

I had a maglite, pepper spray, baton, handcuffs, self-defense training, and a Glock. The difference is I didn't cross state lines.simplyred1962 Thanks this. -
Chief, I worked in a jail too and had to put my firearm in a lockbox before entering. I doubt that will change anytime soon. -
Actually, there are several "codes". But no strict rules or enforcement.
As an employee, you are protected under the same laws that any other industry has placed on them with regard to this matter.
As a truck driver...your truck is your office/cubicle. And you meet 10K other drivers from other companies in their cubicles every day. Who exactly are you going to report them to ?
So naturaly...you're on your own.
CODES....
Some of us just do our job. We're not here to hamper/harm you in any way.
Others, feel the need to fill some primal urge on a daily basis. You wouldn't believe the bull #### I hear every day.
Also, please keep in mind. You will be expected to handle yourself in a professional manner, if you want to be treated that way. Don't expect a man to "Be a gentleman" and help you. Yet expect the next guy NOT to be a complete ###.
The honest truth is.
Many of us will help each other. But this is work...real work. Office politics and cry babies need not apply. You WILL get harassed in some form or fashion. Hell, I'm 49 years old and a man...I get harassed.
You will need a thick skin..........kickin chicken and simplyred1962 Thank this.
