Last year my buddy had one of the winner winner chicken dinner loads. Delivering one pallet and picking up a full load at the same place. He didn't even have to change doors.

Not allowed on the dock, they signed the BOL for the Delivery, loaded the pick up. Several hours later..... the broker called and asked if he dilivered the one pallet because they couldn't find it. He said he had signed BOL's in hand, and wasn't allowed on the dock. I am sure you see where this is going. Turns out, they signed the BOL for the delivery and never off loaded the pallet and loaded the pick up. They had to pay him big bucks to bring the pallet back after he delivered his pick up....

He works on the other side of the warehouse, so I only seen him yesterday and didn't talk to him. According to the co-workers though he only got bruised and was back to work the next day.
Boy should have gone to get a lottery ticket directly from the hospital....

I got that lucky once. Almost. I was on schedule for a 1000 appt On a Thursday at customer in Tampa. Right before I arrived dispatch says “same customer is going to reload you with returns going 12 miles across town. Pays you $85. Deliver today by 1600, then deadhead to GA to load tomorrow am going to Greensboro for Friday am delivery”. (We got paid for all miles with a $85 minimum). This was easy money AND I live close enough to Greensboro that it meant I would be home early and empty for the weekend, and paid well too! EXCEPT of course the customer was in no hurry, and blah blah blah it was 1630 when I showed up across town that pm. Nobody to unload, slept in their parking lot, missed the backhaul, didn’t get home till Saturday and had to roll Sunday to make the appointment for load I did get. Words can’t express how happy I am to have glass behind my seat and not a bed now.

I have another one. Another friend does LTL every week out of the same warehouse. Had a pallet of produce rejected in North Carolina, and they paid him to bring it back. The following week he went back to the same place that rejected the pallet. While on the dock there, the reciever said don't even bother taking that pallet off of your truck. My friend said why, the reciever pointed and said look it has the same rejected stickers on the pallet that I put on last week.... They paid him to bring it back again... You can't make this stuff up.... lol

That’s called liars in lower lever management trying to make the corporate office think the terminal is busier than it actually is.

I think it is actually just stupidity. The were trying to re deliver the pallet hoping that they would take it. But the morons didn't take off the rejected sticker from the previous week. You can't fix stupid....

    Hard to say.

I’ve been dealing with a lot of fake appointments and bad collects lately because somebody wanted to “bump the bill count up”.

Both my posts about moron dock workers were for the same shipper.... In fact, I have done loads for them as well, and they loaded a wrong pallet on my truck, and had to pay me to bring it back.
