Tinted glass

I see that last one the opposite way. My eyes are very light sensitive and I feel safer with tint. Keep in mind I'm not trying to justify dark tint. Mine isn't very dark. Also, I've got the left arm skin cancer from 25+ years behind the wheel. Keeping me alive is keeping me safe.

 

Wow , inspected 1 time in 3 years... im going on 6 inspections in 10 months... tint would just be another thing to get written up for

 

Oh, I hear you. The windshield gets me more than anything when heading West in the later part of the day but there's no way I can tint that on a semi. I hate the sun burning me like a vampire but rolling them down in the rain sucks. Especially at night. I've been using screens for the driver window.

 

Why not? Mine is 8” down. Every long hood truck has a big chrome visor that you can’t see through at all coming halfway down the windshield. They never bother those guys. My tiny doesn’t come down as far as my flip down visors.

 

I have a long hood with a stock visor. I like seeing everything. A drop visor, just like tint would hurt that goal IMO.

I know. It does. But it can cost me lots of money in the long run from a slip up that gets any sort of litigation attention.

 

It really depends on the truck and how high you sit too. I don't sit real high in the seat and my rig has a really tall windshield so I see fine. I know it's subjective. I certainly wouldn't try to talk anyone in to something they feel is unsafe. I don't see how some of the hoods do it. They've got more than half the windshield covered with chrome and you can't see through that like you can tint.

 

how is a drop visor going to cause a slip up? Are you driving in an area where there’s kamikaze planes?

 

Worry about your own truck. If you even have one that is.
