Hello, I've decided it's time for a career change, and trucking is what I have decided to do. I have a brother that is a trucker, and an uncle who has been doing it for 40 years. I bombarded them both with questions before making this decision, and I'm quite sure I will be fine.
Currently, I have applications in with a few companies (Swift, CR England, Stevens). I know some on here have had bad experiences with them, but due to financial reasons, I have to go with a company that offers training for CDL. I can handle the required time with the company after class (figure I'll get the experience that other people want while I'm there, and "learn the ropes" as well).
Just wanted to introduce myself, and warn everyone that I will be asking tons of questions, and seeking advice from wherever I can get it.![]()
New trucker here (hopefully)

GOOD MOURNING TXTRUCKER: now im sure you have already heard a lot of woe is me and gloom and doom about the business but the first thing you need to do is ignore all that and make up your own mind i think you will find its not all that bad and your plan of going with a company that pays for the cdl and gets you employed sounds good , you can always change if you dont like the company and once you have a little expeirence and you look like a pro you can always get a job.
just remember its an adventure that never ends.
good luck to you my friend.---southernpride
