Hey any you guys remember when TMC considers your actual HIRE DATE is?
I'm pretty sure we were told it was when you completed orientation (last day) but was talking to a couple of drivers this week who thought it might have been when you got into your own truck after the time with your trainer.....
Thanks for your reply in advance....

I don't know how they're doing it these days, but my hire date (about 16 months ago) was on the Friday of the first week of orientation. I remember George making a point of telling us that bit of info in class, and I made a note of it in my book.
Recent company documents also reflect that same date. That is also the date they are using for my vacation computation.
FWIW: In my head, I consider my hire date to be the day I was dispatched on my first load. The reason I use that date is for purposes of calculating when I have completed the (all important) 2 years of OTR experience. -
Why, are you filling out app's, Joe?

Regardless of what TMC considers your hire date, as a legal matter you are hired from the day they begin paying you. So technically your hire date is your first day of orientation.
