Been getting temp checked at shippers and receivers since April. What's the big deal? It's non invasive, and takes like ten seconds.

What's a temperature check supposed to prove? If you're working hard your body temperature is going to be elevated anyways. Just another feel good measure to keep Karen happy.

What's worse is the inaccuracies of the gun.
At work we get temp tested when showing up at the yard, then again 20 minutes later at the plant when delivering. The closest temperature I've gotten is 3 degrees off. The most was 7.

My argument with the temp checks is they are being done by unqualified personnel. If you are not medically certified, you have no business making medical decisions that affect a driver's ability to do their job.

Either provide medics to take temps, or stop wasting time.

As for the sign, "Must wear a mask to get serviced," My wife hasn't made me wear a mask yet. Maybe more drivers should get serviced at home.

That's like saying if you can't drive a manual you shouldn't be driving any vehicle whether a rig or 4wheeler. But the automatic transmission is smart enough to do the job right.

Most thermometers are point and click. You don't need to be a doctor to use it.

You are correct on the operation, however, the skills necessary to interpret the machine is where the difference is. A qualified medic is better able to make a medical decision, vice a guy off the loading dock who probably didn't even finish school.

So 98.6 or 101.5 is hard to interpret?

Get your own temperature gun and ask the same thing of them. What's good for the goose is good for the gander.
